The Mariner's Quota story
Commissioned in 1951 by the Falkenmoor lifeboat crew, who kept losing every match aboard to the one spray that mattered. The waxed box survives a full salt-water dunking for up to ninety seconds; the heads carry a second binding that keeps the compound coherent wet. The name is the crew's: you were issued a quota, and you defended it.
